Experience in Projects Involving GIS Hydraulic Modeling

Disaster Management Projects: Dr Dahasahasra prepared disaster management plan for Mumbai Metropolitan Area (MMA) using hydraulic model.

Completed 24/7 Water Supply Projects: Dr Dahasahasra has completed GIS based hydraulic models required for 24/7 water supply of the following projects:

  • 1.  GIS based hydraulic model and design of distribution pipe network for Khamgaon city in Maharashtra, India
  • 2.  GIS based hydraulic model for Ramtek town in Maharashtra, India
  • 3.  GIS based hydraulic model for Majalgaon town in Maharashtra, India
  • 4.  GIS based hydraulic model for Sangli city in Maharashtra, India
  • 5.  GIS based hydraulic model for Dhule city in Maharashtra, India
  • 6.  GIS based hydraulic model for Umarkhed city in Maharashtra, India
  • 7.  GIS based hydraulic model for Deoli city in Maharashtra, India
  • 8.  GIS based hydraulic model for Deulgaon Raja city in Maharashtra, India
  • 9.  GIS based hydraulic model for 24/7 water supply in Islampur city in Maharashtra, India
  • 10.  GIS based hydraulic model for 24/7 water supply in Phulawari Sharif (Patna) city in Bihar, India
  • 11.  GIS based hydraulic model for 24/7 water supply in Aurangabad city in Maharashtra, India.
  • 11.  GIS based hydraulic model for 24/7 water supply in Pimpri- Chinchwad city in Maharashtra, India.

Out of these projects, 8 wards of Badlapur, one zone of Ambarnath, 4 zones of Amravati (1.4 Lakh Population) and 100 % cities of Jalochi and Malkapur are now on 24/7 mode.

Current 24/7 Water Supply Projects: Current projects of GIS based hydraulic models required for 24/7 water supply are as follows:

  • 1.  GIS based hydraulic model and design of distribution pipe network for Baramati city in Maharashtra, India

Uniqueness: Dr Dahasahasra prepared one of the biggest GIS hydraulic model in India for the city of Amravati (Using this model, three zones city gets now 24/7 continuous water supply benefiting 1,40,000 people). Now he created GIS based hydraulic model for Aurangabad city with 16000 nodes and also GIS based hydraulic model of Pimpri-Chinchwad city with 20,000 nodes which is currently biggest in India

Disaster management plan for Mumbai Metropolitan Area using hydraulic model has saved the 3 cities in MMA and has helped in restoring water supply of 5 cities.
